Dean Hejza

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved brother, Dean R. Hejza, 62, who died on February 28, 2026, after bravely battling the lasting effects of a stroke. He faced his health challenges with quiet strength and determination, surrounded by the love of his family.

He was a devoted son to his mother, Karen, and was preceded in death by his father, Ronald. Dear brother of Jill (the late Terry) O'Donnell, Tracy (Tom) Shue, Ronnie (Sandra), Chad (Karissa), Shane (Candace), Justin and the late Cheryl Hejza; adoring uncle to Riley, Aidan, Cal, Paxson, Nathan, Payton, Brinkley, Reese, Colin, Coleigh, Braeden, Brysen and Brynley, all of whom brought him immense pride and joy. He also leaves behind many dear friends who were fortunate to experience his loyalty, humor, and steady presence.

Family meant everything to him. He was fiercely loyal, always ready to show up, lend a hand, or share a laugh. His love for Chicago sports was unmistakable, especially his unwavering devotion to the Chicago Cubs. Through every season, he remained a true fan, celebrating victories and enduring losses with the same passion and heart.

His memory will forever live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him. A celebration of life for Dean will take place this summer.
