Dean Helmick Obituary
On August 7, 1956, Dean was united in marriage to Marilyn Wilde in Eagle Grove.
Dean worked for Boone Valley / AGP for 42 years – retiring in 1999.
He was a lifetime member of the United Methodist Church. Dean was also a longtime member of the Eagle Grove Golf Course and the Masonic Lodge – Bower Lodge #464. He and Marilyn enjoyed the many work trips they took over the years. Dean also loved playing golf, "Coon" hunting and Canadian fishing trips.
Dean passed away surrounded by family on Wednesday, October 16, 2024, at the age of 87 years. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Marilyn; daughter, Denae` Schaumburg; grandson, Jared Schaumburg and brother, Jerry Helmick.
Survivors include his daughter, Deann Morgan (Dave) of Belmond; son, Dirk Helmick (Denise) of Eagle Grove; son-in-law, John Schaumburg of Edgewood, NM; six grandchildren: Kurt Morgan (Alexis) of Clarion, Daleacia Schechinger (Jason) of Huxley, Jorey Schaumburg (Alexis) of Edgewood, NM, Jaryn Schaumburg of Albuquerque, NM, Alex Helmick (Hanna) of Webster City and Cody Helmick (Jenna) of Webster City; thirteen great-grandchildren; brothers-in-law, Clarence Wilde (Betty) of Eagle Grove and Paul Wilde (Bev) of Eagle Grove and sister-in-law, Ruthie Helmick of Prairie Village, KS.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, October 21, 2024, 1:00 p.m. at the United Methodist Church in Eagle Grove. Visitation is Sunday, from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m. at Foust Funeral Home. Burial in Rose Hill Cemetery.
Memorials may be left to the discretion of the family.
