Robert Dean Hindman, affectionately known as “Poppa Dean,” passed from this life on Saturday, August 9, 2025, at the age of 83.
Born on August 22, 1941, in Lubbock, Texas, to Robert Hindman and Ada (Wisdom) Hindman, Dean proudly served his country in the Army National Guard. Following his service, he built a successful career as a car dealer, where his honesty, hard work, and friendly nature earned him the trust of many.
Dean was a man who loved to work with his hands. He enjoyed welding and creating unique treasures - one of his most memorable projects being a rocking chair made out of horseshoes. His resourcefulness and ability to see beauty in the simple things were trademarks of his life.
Above all, Dean cherished his family. He is survived by his devoted wife, Martha Hindman of Weatherford, Texas; daughters, Cindy Adcock and husband, Ricky, and Candace King and husband, Ricky; son, Sonny Hindman and wife, Tami; along with his beloved grandchildren and great-grandchildren, each of whom brought him immeasurable joy.
Dean’s life will be celebrated with visitation on Thursday, August 14, 2025, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., at Galbreaith Pickard Funeral Chapel, 913 North Elm Street, Weatherford, Texas. Funeral services will be held Friday, August 15, 2025, at 11:00 a.m., at the same location, followed by burial at Peaster Cemetery.
Those who knew Dean will remember him as a man of integrity, ingenuity, and deep devotion to his loved ones - a legacy that will live on in the hearts of all who were blessed to know him.
