LIFE REFLECTIONS
MR. DEAN RAY RUSSELL was born August 30, 1930 to the union of Toney and Nannie (Clark) Russell in East St. Louis, Illinois. He was the fourth of eleven children born to this union. He was preceded in death by: his parents; six brothers, Harold Russell, John Napoleon Russell, Arvell Russell, Gazelle Russell, Thomas Russell, Jr., and Samuel Russell; and two sisters, Ella Mae Willis and Elizabeth Russell Campbell Worth; and one grandson, Donald Russell, Jr.
Dean completed his formal education in East St. Louis School District #189 where he received his high school diploma when he graduated from Lincoln Senior High in 1948.
Dean united in Holy Matrimony with Blanche Campbell on October 13, 1956.
Dean retired from the United States Postal Service after many years of service.
Dean Ray Russell departed this life on Friday, April 28, 2023. He leaves to cherish his memory: eight children, Demetria (Ellis) Carter, Gordon (Geneva) Russell, Tony Russell, Jason (Charlotte Jacobsen) Russell, Diane Russell Valley, Donald (Susie) Russell, Dean (Carolyn) Russell, and Gale Kyles; one sister, Reverend Fannie Russell Taylor of St. Louis, MO; one brother, Edward (Juanita) Russell of Belleville, IL; two sisters-in-law, Mattie Russell of Arlington, TX and Janyce Skinner of Collinsville, IL; one brother-in-law, Frank Skinner of Belleville, IL; 19 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
