Dean was born December 13, 1943 in Shelbyville, the son of Ira and Pauline Peachee Shoemake.
A Private Graveside Service will be held Wednesday, October 8, 2025 at the Arcola Cemetery. Shrader Funeral Home, Arcola, is assisting the family with arrangements.
Survivors include his sister-in-law, Pam Shoemake of Arcola; nephew, Brian (Jessica) Shoemake of Arcola; niece, Tiffany (Travis) Drake of Arcola; great nephews and niece, Nathan Shoemake; Brody, Hunter, and Mia Drake; stepchildren, Bret Pourchot of St. Joseph; and Heather Pourchot of Kentucky.
Dean was preceded in death by his parents and twin brother, Dale.
Dean was a graduate of Arcola High School Class of 1961. He retired from Kraft Foods in Champaign where he worked as a line mechanic.
He served honorably in the Illinois National Guard from 1961-1965.
