A Funeral Service for Deane Nichols, 62, of South Heart will be 2:00 pm Friday, August 16, 2024 at Stevenson Funeral Home in Dickinson with Pastor Dawn Busch officiating.
Visitation will be one hour prior to the service.
Deane passed away on Sunday, July 14, 2024.
Deane Walker Nichols was born on September 14, 1961 to Derrold and Noel (Neudeck) Nichols at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Dickinson, North Dakota. He attended country school for his first year of school, and he switched to New England Public Schools for the rest of his education. He graduated from New England High School in 1979. Deane worked in the oilfield for a couple years during the first boom in the 1980s, and later began farming and ranching.
Deane enjoyed working on vehicles, riding motorcycle and snowmobile, playing cards, and spending time with his friends. When his son, Coedy, was born, Deane’s life was complete.
In 2014, Deane met Bambi Mansfield. Through her, he gained another son and daughter, Dakotah and Bennette. He and Bambi lived on the farm, where they farmed and ranched until Deane’s death.
Deane is survived by his son, Coedy Nichols; fiance, Bambi Mansfield; children, Dakotah and Bennette Mansfield; sisters, Darianne (Brad) Johnson, Janeen (Mark Trechock) Nichols, and Lanie Nichols; and his nieces and nephews, Derryn, Joel, Bryan, Lexie, Chandler, and Nathan.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Derrold (2001) and Noel (2021); and grandparents, Charles and Emma Neudeck, Wayland and Ardath Nichols.
