DeAnn Young, a dedicated and accomplished professional, passed away on December 15, 2025, in her hometown of Dayton, Ohio, where she was born on April 6, 1935. She enjoyed a long and fulfilling career as an Executive Secretary at Hyde Park Electronics, where her expertise and commitment to excellence left a lasting impact on colleagues and the organization alike.
Throughout her life, DeAnn was known for her profound love of animals, a passion that resonated with those around her. Her affinity towards animals was a defining aspect of her character, reflecting her compassionate and nurturing nature. In her free time, DeAnn could be found tending to her garden.
DeAnn is survived by her beloved husband, Robert Young, who provided unwavering support and companionship throughout their years together. Her legacy continues through her daughters, Holly Young and Kelly Rice, who carry forward her strength and values. Additionally, her grandchildren, Tylor Hamm and Alexis Rice, will fondly remember their grandmother's warmth and love.
DeAnn is preceded in death by her parents, Edward and Esther (Brown) Finkbohner, and her brother, Dennis Finkbohner. The memories and values she imparted will undoubtedly continue to guide her family in the years to come.
Her professional achievements and personal passions created a rich tapestry of life that touched many, and she will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her. DeAnn will be laid to rest at Dayton National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made out to SICSA in memory of DeAnn.
