Deanna J "Dena" Fellows

Deanna J. Fellows "Dena" age 84, passed away on December 21st, 2025 in South Jordan, UT.

Dena was born in Talmage, UT to Joseph Calvin Jenson and Lorna Christensen Jenson on June 1st, 1941.

Dena grew up on her parents farm in Talmage,UT. She used to tell us all sorts of stories about bringing sheep in from the hills before it got dark and the mountain lions came out. She told us about milking cows, riding horses, and the stupidest Tom turkey she had that made her finally look forward to Thanksgiving dinner. Her least favorite job was cleaning and collecting eggs out of the chicken coop, though!

Dena graduated from Altamont High School in 1959. She moved to SLC in 1960 and started working for the telephone company. Her friend Gail introduced her to her brother William DeMonte Fellows, and they married on August 10th, 1962. Dad was drafted into the army 6 months later and they moved down to Louisiana for 2 years.

They came back to West Valley City in 1964. They moved into the house they built in 1965 where they continued to raise all of us kids. Mom was the ideal home maker. She spent most of her life taking care of her home, her family, our friends, the neighbor's children, her grandchildren, or any one else that she could take care of. She loved her garden and grew tomatoes, cucumbers, and peppers every year. All of the neighbors kept a close eye on those tomatoes come late summer! She loved to bake bread and cookies, and we always knew we had a home cooked meal if we were at the table by 6pm.

Dena is survived by her sisters Leola Jenson, Maxine Skinner (Barry).

Brother Dallas Jenson (Ilene).

Her sons Brian Fellows, Kevin Fellows (Susan).

Daughters Melanie Collins (Tom), Shawna Holtam.

Grandchildren Amy, Devin, Bella, Liam, Rachel.

Great grandchildren McKaius & McKaden.

She is preceded in death by her husband William DeMonte Fellows.

Parents Joseph Calvin Jenson and Lorna Jenson.

Brothers Arnold, Reed, LaVerne, Leslie, Eugene, & Robert.

Sisters Betty, Beverly, Roberta, Luella, & Baby Sister.

Dena did not want a funeral. She just wished for everyone to be happy.

We will hold a Celebration of Life Memorial for her on January 24th, 2026

From 12pm to 3pm at Sagewood at Daybreak in "The Family Room" on the 2nd floor.

Dena's wish was to be cremated and have a private graveside service

in the spring.
