Deanna J. "Jean" Hoover, born on May 27, 1940 to the late Harry and Margaret (Sawer) Hoover, passed away peacefully on August 8, 2026, at the age of 86. Jean was a beloved sister, friend, and honorary grandmother whose gentle spirit and unwavering kindness touched many lives.
Jean dedicated much of her life to her work as a seamstress at the Woolrich Outdoor Clothing Manufacturer. She found great joy in her craft and cherished the friendships she made during her career. Her love for her job was matched only by her adoration for her cats, which provided her with endless companionship and comfort.
A familiar face at D'Agostino's Restaurant in town, Jean delighted in the company of the many friends she encountered there and treasured the vibrant community she was part of. Her warmth and cheerful demeanor left a lasting impression on all who knew her.
Jean is preceded in death by her loving parents. She leaves behind her sister, Susan Zinck; her long-time friends, Ruth Coffman and Kay Fetzer; her honorary granddaughter, Carolyn Tupper; and numerous nieces who will continue to carry forward her legacy of love and kindness.
