Debbie Nelson, age 63, of Fruitland, a loving Wife, Mother, Daughter, Sister, Aunt, and Grandmother, was born on October 19, 1958, and called from this world too soon on January 9, 2022, due to complications from a recently diagnosed cancer.
Debbie was always at her happiest helping others and cherished the time spent with her grandchildren. She was willing to share her testimony of the restored gospel with others and served in several church callings, of which she held numerous and touched many hearts. She felt great peace as she studied the scriptures. She had a great energy when working with children, with many commenting she had more energy than the kids.
Debbie is survived by her husband, Jerry Nelson; children Sheldon Abeyta (Erin), Jennifer DeWitte, Matthew Nelson (Elora), and three grandchildren whom she loved spending time with. She is further survived by her siblings Mike Greene (Terry), Jake Greene (Heather), Stacy Belgard (Kevin), Michael Perkins (Jennifer), Matthew Park (Nikki), Jenn Wilkens; and many nieces and nephews who adored her. She was preceded in death by her mother Sharon Karr, father Stephen Markham and brother Nicholas Markham.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, January 17, 2022 at 11:30 a.m. at the Fruitland Chapel on Highway 40, with a viewing from 10:00 - 11:45 a.m.
Burial will be in the Fruitland Cemetery.
