It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Debora Dabbs, who left us on September 20, 2025. She was born in Houston, Texas, on May 1 1958, raised in Louisiana and most recently resided in
Waco, Texas.
She was preceded in death by her father, Dennie "Dempsey" Tolbert; her mother, Willie Mae Hall; her brothers, Darrell Tolbert and David Tolbert; her granddaughter, La'Sasha Taylor; and her great-grandchild, Kasyn Johnson.
She is survived by her children: L. Monique Williams, Lakia Williams, Samuel Dabbs, Jr., Latoshia Dabbs-Griggs (Keith), and Denys Dabbs; her grandchildren, Sam'Mya Dabbs, Damien Adkison, Lakyn Williams, Ke'Morrian Williams, Robert Taylor, Ke'Shawn Griggs Dabbs, Ta Shawna Griggs, La'Niece Griggs, Khloe Williams, Kelis Griggs, and De'Nation Taylor:
Debora's love extended beyond biology, and she proudly raised TaNya Griggs, Za'Kya Griggs, and Kevion Griggs as her own grandchildren, shaping their lives with the same care and devotion she gave her family.
She is also survived by her siblings: Dennis "DT" Tolbert, Corenthia
"Cricket" Tolbert, Angie Lorraine Jacobs, Deidra Eugene Jonathan), and Jacques Keithenn "Keith" Hall (Melanie).
Debora also leaves behind a large, loving extended family, including cherished aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of friends who will remember her warmth, laughter, and generous spirit.
LIFE & LEGACY
Debora devoted over 18 years as a Nurs Assistant, providing comfort, care, and support to countless individuals. She dedicated herself to improving the lives of those around her, whether through her work, community involvement, or daily acts of kindness. She had a heart for helping others family, friends, and even complete strangers-always going above and beyond to bring a smile, comfort, or a helping hand.
She loved life and embraced it with joy, laughter, and an unmistakable spirit. Debora had a sense of humor that could light up any room, a quick wit that kept everyone around her entertained, and a personality so genuine that her friends and family will forever remember her honesty and her colorful way of speaking. She was known for her courage in speaking her mind, her honesty, and for making everyone laugh.
Debora's passions were as vibrant as her personality. She loved playing slots, sewing, crocheting, playing card games, bingo, solving puzzles, and diving into puzzle books. She enjoyed cooking and baking, often delighting family and friends with her creations. Her home and heart were always open, and she found joy in bringing joy to others. She truly made the ordinary moments of life special.
Her memory will live on in the countless lives she touched, in her laughter, her honesty, her kindness, and her boundless love. Her presence will be deeply missed, yet her spirit, humor, and generosity will continue to inspire those who
