Debora Rowland Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by S.M. Goodson Funeral Homes and Crematory - Anniston on Mar. 16, 2026.
Debora D. Rowland, a kind and loving soul, graced this world with her presence on July 17, 1961 in Talladega, Alabama. Debora touched countless lives with her kindness, generosity, and unwavering love.

A proud graduate of Anniston High School, Debora dedicated her life to the field of education, working as a Head Start teacher in Anniston and Talladega where she ignited the spark of learning in the hearts of young children. Her love for the children was obvious; she created a nurturing environment that shaped not just students, but a community.

Debora, affectionately known as Dee Dee, was a beacon of support, opening her home to relatives and friends in need, embodying the true essence of family. She was not just a mother to her own children, but a mother figure to many, always ready to lend a helping hand or offer a comforting word.

On Friday, March 13, 2026, the Master Gardener picked a radiant bloom, Debora D. Rowland, to add to His heavenly bouquet. Like the flowers she so lovingly cultivated as an avid gardener herself, her life reflected the splendor of God's creation. She was preceded in death by her husband, Henry Lee Rowland, Sr. and her son, Thelonious Tyree Hill.

Debora D. Rowland's precious memories will forever be etched in the hearts of her children, Henry (Anaysa) Rowland, Jr., Darius Rowland, and Gabriella Woodard; seven grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; mother, Alma Bradford; sister, Michelle Swain; and a host of other family members and friends.

Debora's legacy will live on in the hearts of those she influenced and cared for. Her spirit of giving will continue to inspire us all to extend kindness to one another.
