Deborah Jean “Debbie” Alston, 67, of Lee County, GA, passed away January 27, 2026 at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital. Funeral services will be held Friday, January 30, 2026 at 2:00 pm at Mathews Funeral Home. Rev. Charles Jones will officiate. Interment will follow in Greenwood Cemetery in Cuthbert, GA.
Debbie was born in Thomaston, GA on October 7, 1958 to the late Samuel and Virginia Huguley. She grew up there and graduated from Robert E. Lee High School in 1976. She moved to Albany in 1996 and was employed with Grants, Eckerd’s Drugs, Dollar General, Party City and CVS.
Debbie was a Methodist by faith and enjoyed shopping, fishing, golf, her grandkids and was a avid Georgia Bulldog Fan.
Survivors include her husband, Walter Alston of Lee County, GA, her children, Jeremy Roberts of Lee County, GA, Mandy Roberts of Winter Garden, FL and Jennifer (Brandon) Tucker of Sylvester, GA, her mother-in-law, Eugenia Alston Pike and her brother-in-law, Morris (Jennifer) Pike all of Griffin, GA, three siblings,, Dean (Jerry) Salter of Thomaston, GA, Phil Huguley of Locust Grove, GA and Elizabeth Ellington of Thomaston, GA and two grandchildren, Talon Tucker and Waylon Tucker.
The family will receive friends from 1:00 pm until 2:00 pm Friday at Mathews Funeral Home.
Those desiring may make memorials in memory of Debbie to St. Jude’s at ALSAC/St. Jude Children's Research Hospital 501 St. Jude’s Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
