Deborah Comley Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by O'Riley - Branson Funeral Service & Crematory on Feb. 6, 2026.
Deborah Lynn Comley, born on May 1, 1956, in Huntington, West Virginia, to the late Harold & Patricia May. Deborah passed away on February 5, 2026, at her home surrounded by her loving family. Her journey spanned nearly seven decades, marked by boundless love, unwavering commitment to her family, and a profound dedication to her community.

Debbie's formative years began at George Washington High School, from which she graduated in 1974. During her school days, she enthusiastically worked at Dairy Queen from 1970 to 1976, cherishing the friendships and experiences that shaped her early life. In 1990, Debbie found her true partner in life when she married Steven W. Comley Sr. Together, they shared a deep bond characterized by love and adventure until Steve's untimely passing in 2017. Their love story was woven with countless memories, including their shared passion for travel and participation in the Eli Lilly Auxiliary Hockey team, where they forged lifelong friendships and created joyous moments.

Debbie's spirit extended far beyond her personal life; she was a pillar of her community. As an active member of St. Anthony's Catholic Church, she devoted her time generously, serving on the Altar Society, lending her voice to the choir, and finding joy in organizing the beloved Bingo nights every Wednesday. Her faith was a guiding light, illuminating the lives of those around her.

Professionally, Debbie showcased her remarkable talents as the manager of Subway at the Indianapolis International Airport, where her warm personality and exceptional leadership impacted many. She later managed the Budweiser Brewhouse from 2001 to 2008, bringing laughter and enjoyment to countless patrons. Additionally, she contributed her skills to FedEx from 2003 to 2005, embodying a work ethic that was inspiring to all who knew her.

Beyond her professional achievements, Debbie found great joy in the simple pleasures of life. Family gatherings at the treasured Lakehouse were a source of happiness where laughter and love flowed freely. Boating on the serene waters brought her peace, creating cherished memories with loved ones. Deborah is survived by her children; Andrew (Michelle) Comley, Steven Comley Jr., and Rosie Ramirez, grandchildren; Mary, Elijah, and Lucas Comley, Bruce, Soledad, Lucero, and Esperanza Rameriz, sisters; Anna Kinsler, Margaret Olson, Helen (Todd) Vandagrifft, and Monica Morefield, along with her best friend; Thea Keesee.

Deborah is preceded in death by her loving husband; Steven Comley.

Visitation will be held at O'Riley-Branson Funeral Service & Crematory on Thursday, February 12, 2026, from 4:00pm-6:00pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Friday, February 13, 2026, at St. Barnabas Catholic Church at 11:00am, with burial immediately following at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens in Greenwood.

Debbie made indelible marks on the hearts of all who crossed her path. Her warm smile, gentle spirit, and unwavering support will be profoundly missed. She leaves behind a legacy rich in love, faith, and community service testament to a life lived fully and passionately.

As we reflect on the beautiful moments shared with Debbie, we carry her spirit with us, forever grateful for the light she brought into our lives.
