Debbie is survived by her loving husband of 38 years, Joseph; her children, Steven (Vanessa), Matthew (Asya), and Jennifer; and her cherished grandchildren, Olivia, Josephine, and Benjamin. She is also survived by her siblings, Cindy (late John) McGreevy, Tammy (Dan) Davis, Missy Snider, and Rob Davis; her cousins, Vicki (Bill) Nolte, Tom Gorza, Ed (Heidi) Gorza, and Joe (Deb) Gorza; and her nieces and nephews, Jack and Robert McGreevy, Jessica Falcon, Rachael Hoehne, Brandon and Emma Snider, and Annie Davis. She is also survived by countless friends and loved ones.
Debbie held a special place in her heart for her family. She adored her grandchildren and spent every possible moment with them making lifelong memories. She also had a passion for traveling with family with her favorite destinations of Disney and Myrtle Beach.
Debbie's favorite time of year was Christmas. She loved decorating every inch of the house and yard. She had upgraded to two Christmas trees to hold only some of her many Christmas ornaments. Her favorite book was "The Night Before Christmas" and would be read to her family every night during the month of December. She felt that every Christmas was an opportunity to remember all the good times from the year and the years past.
Debbie had a remarkable talent for accounting. She founded her own company and was dedicated to taking care of her clients as if they were family. She had a love for all things math and number related including her favorite saying of "every problem can be solved if it was treated as an algebra problem".
Debbie's memory will be cherished by all who knew her. Her kindness, dedication, and love for her family, friends, and loved ones will be remembered always.
Debbie always believed that funerals were a time to celebrate the loved one's life. She requested friends and loved ones to wear colorful clothing and reminisce about great memories. The family would like to thank everyone for their love and support during this time especially the critical care staff at Southwest General Hospital who took great care of her.
In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the American Heart Association, the American Cancer Association, and your local library.
A visitation to honor Debbie will be held Sunday, March 2 from 2:00 pm until 6:00 pm at Sunset Chapel, 6245 Columbia Road, North Olmsted, 44070. A funeral mass will take place the following day, Monday March 3, at 11 am at Saint Mary of the Falls, 25615 Bagley Rd, Olmsted Falls, OH 44138. Burial to follow at Sunset Memorial Park.

Blessings and condolences to the Cotman family. Deb was a cherished friend through the St. Mary ABA days. Always kind, caring and ready to lend a helping hand. This was a shock and I'm still in disbelief. I will continue to pray for all of you. I'm sorry I could not attend the calling hours or funeral mass due to scheduling. May God's peace be felt by all.

When I think of Debbie, I see her smiling and laughing. I first met her at my Aunt Clara´s apartment when she and Joe were engaged. She had such a joy and zest for life about her. Always positive, this beautiful lady loved her family. One time, when we were sharing family history at my Uncle Frank´s house, I remember sitting on the floor with her, looking at all the material . Her enthusiasm was always contagious. I remember fun family gatherings at Joe and Debbie´s for baptisms and First Communions, and summer picnics. I can´t remember the last time we got together- I wish it had been more often. But she will always be with us. Her joy and love have left quite an imprint on our hearts.

I was principal at St. Mary of the Falls School when Stephen and Matthew were students. Debbie was always so helpful full and supportive! She was the only parent who invited me to have dinner at her home when I had late night commitments. May our Lord hold her forever in divine love. Pat Shields
