Deborah "Debbie" J. Harris, supportive army wife, beloved mother, and doting nana, passed away peacefully on May 3, 2025, in her hometown of Dayton, Ohio. Born on September 12, 1957, Debbie was a vibrant spirit whose warmth and kindness touched everyone she encountered.

As a devoted family member, Debbie dedicated her life to nurturing her loved ones. She is survived by her cherished husband of 51 years, Mark Harris, and her three daughters, Mande Harris, Becky Harris, and Emily Donohoo, who is married to Brian Donohoo. She took immense pride in being a grandmother to her granddaughters, Sierra and Abby, and her grandson, Ender Donohoo, each of whom held a special place in her heart.

Debbie exemplified resilience as a cancer survivor, possessing an indomitable spirit that inspired those around her. Her love for nature was evident in her meticulous care for her yard, where she took great pride in her beautifully tended flower beds. An avid animal lover, she particularly enjoyed the company of birds and her dogs, finding joy in their presence.

Beyond her gardening, Debbie found happiness in the simple pleasures of life. She loved playing bingo and reading. Her cheerful demeanor was contagious; she had an innate ability to strike up a conversation with anyone, always wearing a bright smile that uplifted those around her.

Debbie is also remembered for her deep affection for her family. She adored her grandchildren and cherished every moment spent with them, reveling in the joy they brought to her life.

In addition to her immediate family, Debbie is survived by her brothers, Billy Massengill and Joel Massengill, along with his wife Loretta Massengill and their family, her brothers-in-law, Timothy Harris, who is married to Jeri Harris, and David Harris and his family.

Debbie will be deeply missed by all who knew her. She leaves behind a legacy of love, happiness, and an unwavering commitment to family that will continue to inspire her loved ones for years to come. She joins her parents, Rose and Bill Massengill, her sister-in-law Connie Massengill, and her grandparents, Mandy and Joel Holt, in eternal rest.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, May 14, 2025 from 1-3pm at the Newcomer North Chapel, 4104 Needmore Rd, Dayton, OH 45424. The service will follow at 3pm.
