Deborah "Deb" Jean Detten, 64, a lifelong resident of Springfield, MO passed away on Wednesday, January 28, 2026. She was born January 12, 1962, to Jefferson and Barbara Hefner.

Deb is survived by her husband of 44 years, Bob Detten; son, Stephen Collins (wife Heather); and grandchildren, Andrew, Noah, Chloe, Declan and Jamie; son, Jon Detten (wife Ashley); and grandchildren, Ivan and Leighton; daughter, Beth Presto (partner Dano); and grandchildren, Ava, Kasey, Elora and Wilmer; and brothers, Montie and Bill.

Deb had a big heart and affinity for those who were either vulnerable or who had suffered, so if anyone would like to honor her memory for that, you are invited to donate to either –

Newborns in Need, Springfield MO Chapter – from their website,

"When a child is born into a needy family, they may only have a shirt and diaper to leave the hospital. When they arrive home, if there is a home, there may not even be a warm blanket or quilt to wrap them. Newborns In Need changes that scenario." Contact (417) 881-2229 if you are interested in donating. Either monetary or in-kind donations are welcome.

K9s for Warriors – from their website,

"Determined to end Veteran suicide, K9s For Warriors provides highly-trained Service Dogs to military Veterans suffering from PTSD, traumatic brain injury and/or military sexual trauma. With the majority of dogs being rescues, this innovative program allows the K9/Warrior team to build an unwavering bond that facilitates their collective healing and recovery." Visit https://k9sforwarriors.org/ for more information. "Donate" button is at top right of home page.

The Memorial Service will be officiated by Monsignor Thomas Reidy and will be held at 11:00 am, Saturday, February 7, 2026, at Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church, 2200 W Republic Rd, Springfield, MO 65807. Burial will take place at Resurrection Cemetery at a later date.
