Deborah L Felten, age 61 of Aurelia, IA, passed away Friday, February 21, 2025 at Mercy One Hospital in Sioux City, IA. Memorial services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, February 25, 2025, at Grace Methodist Church in Marcus, IA. Pastor Travis Stervick and Pastor Thomas Petersen will officiate. Burial will be at a later date. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the church. The Greenwood-Schubert Funeral Home in Marcus, IA is assisting the family with arrangements. Deborah Lynne Felten (61) of Aurelia, IA passed away peacefully surrounded by family on Friday February 21st at Mercy One Hospital in Sioux City. Deborah was born on September 12, 1963, in Le Mars, IA to Larry and Karen Holmes. She grew up with her two brothers, Jeff and Steve, and enjoyed playing all sports. After graduating from Marcus High School in 1982, Deborah completed her nursing degree and worked at the Spencer Hospital. On December 13, 1986, Deborah married Byron Felten in Marcus, IA and together they raised four children and farmed outside of Aurelia, IA. She also worked as a nurse at Cherokee Hospital and Davita Renal Center in Storm Lake before retiring.
Deborah was a loving mother, dedicated wife, and a caring nurse. Deborah enjoyed reading, traveling, and watching sports. She loved being a grandma and spending time with her grandchildren more than anything.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Larry and Karen Holmes.
She is survived by her husband Byron and her four children, Nathaniel (Molly) Felten and granddaughter Ariel, Nick Felten, Amanda (Cory) Weeden and grandchildren Adelyn and Liam, and Neal Felten. She is also survived by her two brothers, Jeff (Jody) Holmes and Steve (Rachel) Holmes and many nieces and nephew. She was immensely loved and will be deeply missed by all.
