Deborah “Miss Debbie” Sue Foy Ferguson, 68, of Siler City, went to her Heavenly home on Friday, January 9th, 2026, at her home surrounded by family.
Deborah was born on March 22nd, 1957, in Jacksonville, NC, to Victor and Reba Foy. She is preceded in death by her father.
Miss Debbie drove a bus for Chatham Middle School where she retired after 24 years of service. She enjoyed watching Big Brother and Survivor. She always took care of everyone else around her. She was a great gift giver. She loved taking pictures and editing them, and she loved reading her Bible. Her greatest love though was her family, especially her grandchildren. They were her pride and joys. She loved spending time with them and making memories. Left to cherish her memory is her husband of 52 years, Kenneth Ferguson of the home; her daughter, Melissa F. Smoak and her husband, Phillip of Ramseur; her granddaughter, Kensley; her grandson, Kanyon; her bonus grandchildren, Elijah and Cameron; her mother, Reba Foy of Jacksonville; her sisters, Sheila Foy, and Sandy Harrell and her husband, Keith; her brothers, Allen Foy, and Jeff Foy and his wife, Candy; and several nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to the Shriner’s Foundation in Deborah’s name.
A visitation will be held Monday, January 19th, 2026, from 5-7 pm, at Smith & Buckner Funeral Home Chapel. There will be a private burial at a later time.
Smith & Buckner Funeral Home will be assisting the Ferguson family.
