Deborah was a truly remarkable warm and friendly person. She was one of the first people that I really came to know when I worked at Carter. I still reflect on some of her words of wisdom. Please, accept my sincerest sympathy. I pray that in time your memories will bring you more joy than sorrow. Deborah was a truly bright light in this world. She leaves that light behind in the hearts of her family, friends, colleagues, and students that she taught. I will pray for your family.

Lowry,
My deepest condolences to you and the Hawkins family on Deborah's passing. I never had the pleasure to meet Deborah personally, but talked to her several times on the phone. She could really talk a long time. She is resting now in the hands of the Lord. May she RIP.
