Deborah Katrina Heflin was called home on the early morning of Thursday, November 14, 2024. Debbie as she was affectionately called was born on July 14, 1961, in Washington, D.C., to the late Rita and Robert Lee Green, Sr. She was the oldest of the two children born into this union.
Debbie was educated through Prince George’s public school system and graduated from Eleanor Roosevelt High School in 1979. She grew up with a close knit family spending fun times with her cousins, aunts and uncles.
Debbie began her working career as a sales associate at Woodward and Lothrop in Iverson Mall in the 1980s and later pursuing her career in law enforcement in the mid 1980’s. She enjoyed going to the firing range where she taught her dad how to shoot. Debbie became a mom to Alexandra Nicole Green on January 24, 1989. Alex was her pride and joy.
On Saturday, May 8, 1999, Debbie married Victor Heflin in a very intimate ceremony and later she welcomed her second child, Taylor devick Heflin on december 1st 2001. Debbie enjoyed her roles as a cheer and sports mom to both of her children and a loyal wife to her husband.
After a long federal government career with the NSA Debbie retired in 2023She is preceded in death by her parents Rita and Robert Lee Green, Sr.
Her memory will always flourish in the hearts and minds of her husband Victor Heflin, her daughter Alexandra N. Green, her son, Taylor D. Heflin, her stepson Bennie J. Heflin and all those who knew her.
