Deborah L. Johns Gennaro, 74, of Summerlin Drive, New Castle, died Sunday, January 4, 2026 at Autumn Grove Nursing Home in Harrisville, PA. She was born in New Castle on September 11, 1951 the daughter of the late Elmer and Ella Mae (Amalong) Sankey. She married Raymond D. Gennaro March of 1983, he survives in New Castle. Deborah was an assistant manager at Friendly’s Ice Cream and a secretary for Joe Cioffi Trucking for a number of years. She was a homemaker who loved flower gardening, traveling, loved animals and attending her children’s activities.

In addition to her husband she is survived by six children, Gary Johns and wife Tammy of Key West, FL, Robert Johns of Key West, FL, Anthony Gennaro and wife Shiloh of Afton, Iowa, Michael Gennaro and wife Karly of New Castle, Jaimie Barako and husband Steve of Sebastian, FL, and Travis Gennaro of New Castle, and nine grandchildren.

She was also preceded in death by two brothers, Dennis and David Sankey.

Visitation will be held Wednesday, January 7, 2026 from 11 AM to 1 PM at the William F. and Roger M. DeCarbo Funeral Home, 926 Cunningham Avenue. A funeral service will be held Wednesday, January 7, 2026 at the William F. DeCarbo Memorial Chapel. Rev. Matthew Bupp will officiate. Burial will be in Graceland Cemetery.
