Deborah Ann Jost passed away peacefully on November 6, 2025, in Gilmer, Texas. Born on January 10, 1954, in the small town of Winnsboro, Texas, Deborah lived a life marked by compassion and a profound commitment to helping others.

Deborah spent her career as a registered nurse at UT Health, she dedicated her life to the well-being of her patients, comfort and care always her guiding principles. Her colleagues admired her for her expertise and her natural ability to connect with patients.

A truly giving person, Deborah, had a heart that overflowed with kindness. She devoted time and resources to support children in need, believing fiercely in the power of community and the potential of every child.

Outside of her professional life, Deborah found joy and tranquility in her hobbies. Crafting was not just a pastime for her but a form of artistic expression that reflected her personality. Each creation was filled with love and precision, often gifted to friends and family.

Those left to cherish her memory are her son, Tommy Phillips and wife Sondra; Tammy Hatton and husband Tracy; brother, John Deishler and wife Judy; sisters, Karen Broom and husband Billy Jack and Opal Markss; 6 grandchildren, Colby Phillips, Jordan Phillips, Anthony Phillips, Kristal Sebesta, Dematria Angton and Mykel Matney; along with 13 great granddaughters, who were very special to her.

Deborah is preceded in death by her parents, Thomas Henry Deishler and Nelda Joy Wetzel Deishler; 3 sisters, Beth Deishler, Frances Deishler and Patricia Ford; grandchild, K.C. Matney.
