Deborah Jean Koltzenburg, 75, of Macomb, Illinois, passed away peacefully at 5:49 a.m. on Wednesday, November 19, 2025, at Grand Prairie Assisted Living in Macomb. She was born February 28, 1950, in Colchester, Illinois, to Ivan Eugene and Jacquelyn A. (Wayland) Rutledge.
Deborah is survived by her son, Jason Lee (Shauna) Carroll of Macomb; two grandchildren, Kevin Carroll and Brittany (Austin) Pray; two great-grandchildren, Caelum Carroll and Coletta Pray; two brothers, Donnie and John; and four sisters, Dee, Janet, Bobby Ann, and Felicia.
She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Kenny Snider.
Debbie owned and operated the Good Hope Café for more than 31 years, a true labor of love. She was devoted to cooking, serving, and caring for others, and cherished the many loyal customers who became like family. She also had a remarkable green thumb and found joy tending to her many plants. Above all, Debbie loved her family deeply, and her grandchildren held a special place in her heart.
Cremation rites have been accorded. A celebration of life will be held from 3:00 to 7:00pm on Sunday, December 7, 2025, at the McDonough County 4-H Center. Dodsworth-Piper-Wallen Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Please sign the guestbook and leave condolences at www.dodsworthfh.com.
