DEBORAH LOCKMAN Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Gorman Funeral Homes - Platte Chapel - Wheatland on Sep. 24, 2025.
A funeral service for Deborah "Deb or Debbie" Lynn Lockman, 71, will be held on at 11:00 A.M. Friday, September 26, 2025 at the Wheatland Bible Church in Wheatland, Wyoming with Pastor Tony Borton officiating.

Deb Lockman went home to be with Jesus on Tuesday, September 23, 2025, in Wheatland, Wyoming following a long battle with cancer. She passed away peacefully in her favorite place, in the presence of her loving family.

She was born on Wednesday, February 17, 1954, in Scottsbluff, Nebraska, the eldest daughter of Peter "Alan" and Shirley (Swan) Weber, followed by two younger sisters, DeAnna and Dawn. The three sisters shared a special bond that continued throughout her entire life, and time they spent together was always full of laughter and a little bit of mischief.

In 1974, Deb married Terry Lockman, and they made their home in Scottsbluff. In 1977, they welcomed their first son, Chad, followed by their son, Derrick in 1979. Deb loved to spend time with her sons, watching their sporting events, reading, playing games, laughing, and watching Sci-Fi movies late into the night. In 1979, the Lockman family moved to Wheatland, where Deb and Terry lived until her passing. Terry and Deb recently celebrated 51 years together, a marriage that will be remembered by the care that they showed each other during injury and illness.

Deb was a natural caretaker to those around her, starting her career as a candy striper while in high school. She graduated from Western Nebraska Community College in 1975 as a Registered Nurse, a career that spanned over 41 years in Nebraska and Wyoming, including a long period when she served as the Director of Nursing at Platte County Memorial Hospital in Wheatland.

Most important to Deb were her relationship with God and her family. She spent each morning reading scripture, praying, and journaling, and she leaned on Scripture for answers and guidance in her life. She taught her family that faith is not lived just on Sunday morning, but by being in constant conversation with Jesus.

Deb loved time with family, including her husband, her two sons, and her beloved grandchildren, Brody, Baylee, and Ava. Grandma Debbie was always up for story time, crafting, games, or long talks with her grandchildren. Deb also had a large extended family, and time spent together with the Weber clan was always full of laughter and lots of food. Deb will be remembered for her faith, her sense of humor, her patience, and her accepting and kind heart.

Deb was preceded in death by her grandparents; mother; and niece, Abby; she has been looking forward to hugging them in Heaven.

She is survived by her husband, Terry; sons, Chad (Khara) and Derrick (Tara); grandchildren, Brody (David), Baylee, and Ava; father, Alan (Bonnie) Weber; sisters, DeAnna (Rocky) Ralls and Dawn Weber; stepbrother, Robert Patton; and nieces and nephew, Shannon, Dustin, and Leah.

The Gorman Funeral Homes – Platte Chapel of Wheatland are in charge of the arrangements.

Terry and family, we are so sorry for your loss. I´m so glad we were able to reconnect this last year. Deb had a beautiful voice and sang at our wedding. She was always such an inspiration of faith and she is now singing Hallelujah with our Lord and Savior. Thoughts and Prayers.
