In Loving Memory of
Debbie Osterloh, a beloved daughter, sister, aunt, niece, cousin, and friend, passed away peacefully on October 24, 2025, at the age of 64. Born on July 4, 1961, Debbie brought light, laughter, and love into the world from the moment she arrived.
Debbie had a heart as big as her smile. She loved everyone she met and was happiest when surrounded by her family - especially her devoted mother and father, her caring brother and sister, and her cherished nephews and cousins. Debbie loved others the way Christ loved - with gentleness, forgiveness, joy, and a heart wide open. Her love for her family was unconditional, and she gave it freely and joyfully. She especially loved being around little children, whose laughter and innocence brought her endless happiness.
She found joy in life's simple pleasures - watching her favorite classic TV shows like I Love Lucy and Matlock, the heartwarming stories of Hallmark movies, and delighting in the gentle world of Winnie the Pooh. Debbie had an incredible memory and a special gift for noticing the little things that made people unique - she could remember the eye color of everyone she loved, a reflection of how deeply she cared for those closest to her.
Debbie accomplished so much in life through her unconditional love. A proud graduate of Klein High School in Spring, Texas, she went on to compete in the Special Olympics for several years, including the mile run and mile relay. She was also a Brownie and Girl Scout, carrying the spirit of friendship, kindness, and service that scouting teaches throughout her life. Her compassion, patience, and warm presence touched countless hearts and reminded everyone that true success is not found in what we achieve, but in how deeply we love.
Debbie was preceded in death by her loving father, Wellington Frederick Osterloh; her grandmother, Mary Kazarian; and her grandfather, Wellington Disbro Osterloh. She is survived by her devoted mother, Ruth Osterloh of
Mansfield, Texas; her sister, Judy McFarlin and husband Brian of Van, Texas; and her brother, Eric Osterloh of Euless, Texas, and her aunt Florence Fortier of Panama City, Florida. She is also survived by her beloved nephews: Dakota McFarlin and his wife, Sarah, of Arlington, Texas; Forrest McFarlin and his wife, Julia, of Houston, Texas; Grayson McFarlin of New York, New York; and Weston McFarlin of New York, New York, and numerous cousins.
Though she faced life's challenges with the perspective of someone with special needs, Debbie's spirit was a gift to all who knew her. She taught by example how to love deeply, laugh often, and find joy in the smallest things. Her life was a living testament to kindness, innocence, and Christ-like love.
Debbie will be deeply missed and forever remembered by her family and friends. Her laughter, her gentle wisdom, and her boundless love will continue to shine in the hearts of all who were blessed to know her. The family will receive friends and family on Tuesday, October 28, 2025, from 5:00 to 7:00 pm at Mansfield Funeral Home, and burial will be at Schuler Funeral Home in Hendersonville, North Carolina.
"Sometimes," said Pooh, "the smallest things take up the most room in your heart."
