Deborah Ann Poradek, age 68, passed away peacefully on December 20, 2025, at St. Vincent Hospital in Green Bay, Wisconsin after a hard fought and courageous battle with Leukemia.
Deborah was born on July 23, 1957, and was a lifelong learner whose determination, intelligence, and strong faith guided her throughout her life. She was known for her hardworking, steadfast nature and her stubborn—but deeply loving—spirit.
Deborah began her career journey as a Certified Nursing Assistant, caring for others with compassion and dedication. She later earned an associate degree in web programming and went on to build a successful career as a computer programmer. In her later years, she found great fulfillment as an instructor at Northeast Wisconsin Technical College, where she taught life skills. A testament to her drive and intellect, Deborah was also the valedictorian of Luxemburg High School.
Service to others was central to Deborah's life. She served as a board member of Alcoholics Anonymous and was a strong advocate for education and awareness, offering guidance, hope, and support to many. Her faith was the cornerstone of her life, and she relied deeply on her relationship with God. Deborah was a devoted member of Bethany Methodist Church in Green Bay.
Outside of her professional and service work, Deborah found joy in spending time with her family, animals, taking walks in nature, and continuing to learn. Music was another great love of hers; she played keyboard in several bands during her adult life, an experience that brought her immense happiness and fulfillment.
Deborah is survived by her loving husband, Mark Poradek; her son, Andy Nettekoven (Amanda) and four cherished grandkids; her daughter, Ashley Huntley (Alison); her mother-in-law, Betty Poradek; her brothers, Brian Wendricks (Debbie) and Jimmy Wendricks (Shelly) and sister-in-law Lori Wendricks; She is also survived by many extended family members with whom she shared close and meaningful relationships.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Beverly (Widell) Wendricks; her father, Edward Wendricks; and her brother, Randy Wendricks.
A visitation will be held on January 9, 2025, from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., followed by the service at 11:00 a.m., at Bethany Methodist Church, 1110 Echo Lane, Green Bay, WI 54304. A luncheon will follow the service.
The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to Unity Hospice, especially Jen Wheatley and Caitlyn Phillips, for their compassion and support during an extremely difficult time. Special thanks are also extended to St. Vincent Hospital nurses Zach, Audrey, Kelly, and Kate for their care and kindness.
Deborah will be remembered for her unwavering faith, her devotion to family, her commitment to service, and the quiet strength with which she lived her life.
