Deborah J. (nee Taylor) Rose (CFD ret.), 74 years old, passed away peacefully on January 4th surrounded by her loving family. Debbie is survived by her devoted husband Hank (CFD ret.); loving children, Chris (Karen), Ken (Sally), Craig (Michaela), Keith (Caroline); cherished grandchildren Zoe, Nathan, & Maeve; dear sisters Margaret Grant, Joanne (Dr. David) Gorecki, Kathy Taylor, Julie Taylor, sister-in-law Chris Taylor dear friend Mike Stanley; and by her many cousins, nieces, and nephews. She will be truly missed by her club friends of over 50 years.

Debbie is preceded in death by her parents, the late James Nolan (CPD ret.) and Dorothy Therese (nee Vail) Taylor, sister Mary Margaret Taylor, brother Kevin (CPD ret.) Taylor, brother-in-law Ken Grant, sister Barbara (the late Bruce) Becker, and sister Janis Taylor.

Debbie was a proud graduate of St. Angela School class of 1965. She worked for the Chicago Park District and became the 1st female lifeguard for Chicago Park District Beaches. She worked at North Avenue Beach for many years. She joined the Chicago Fire Department in 1970, and served proudly as Paramedic Officer and instructor at the Chicago Fire Academy.

Debbie was an avid outdoorswoman, who enjoyed traveling, camping, boating, and fishing. She most enjoyed sharing her love of the holidays with her family and supporting the endeavors of her children and grandchildren.

She will be deeply missed.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, January 6th at Smith-Corcoran Funeral Home 6150 N. Cicero Ave. Chicago, IL 60646 from 3-8 PM.

Funeral Wednesday, January 7th, 9:45 AM from Smith-Corcoran for 10:30 AM Mass at St. Paul of the Cross 320 S. Washington Ave, Park Ridge, IL.

Interment Private. Info 773-736-3833

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Misericordia or to the National Kidney Foundation of Illinois
