Deborah Rotolo Obituary

In loving memory of our dear mother and wife, Deborah Ann Rotolo, who passed away peacefully on Friday, November 3, 2023, at home with her family by her side.

Deborah is survived by her beloved husband Nicholas Rotolo, daughter and son-in-law Nicole and James Ponton, son Nicholas Rotolo Jr, daughter and son-in-law Nikki Jo and Mark Vescio. She is also survived by her cherished grandchildren: Mackenzie Ponton, Lincoln Ponton, Mia Vescio, and Kingston Vescio. She was predeceased by her parents, Louis and Joan Mezza; and a brother, Steven Mezza.

Deborah led a life filled with love, dedication, and boundless compassion. Born in March 31st 1959 she embarked on a remarkable journey that included graduating from Rome Free Academy in 1978 and fulfilling her dream of becoming a nurse, a profession she devoted herself to for over 40 years. Her unwavering commitment led her to serve at Rome Hospital and later within the State of New York, where her care and kindness touched countless lives.

On July 8, 1983, she joined hands in marriage with Nicholas Rotolo, creating a union that was a cornerstone of her life. Deborah exemplified unwavering dedication to her family, pouring her heart into nurturing and cherishing her three children alongside her loving husband. Her commitment extended beyond her immediate family, as she passionately served as the president of the school parent-teacher association, never missing a single sports event, dedicating herself wholeheartedly to supporting her children in every endeavor.

Her life was a testament to selflessness and love, where every moment was embraced as family time. Deborah adored her work and patients, infusing every interaction with care and empathy. Her love for her family was unwavering, complemented by her occasional joy in attending an Aerosmith concert, a rare indulgence amid her full and family-focused life.

Her legacy embodies the quintessential essence of a devoted Italian mother - her home's door was always open, ensuring that everyone who crossed the threshold received not only a warm welcome but also love, happiness, and a delicious meal. Deborah will be deeply missed and remembered for the enduring love she showered upon her family, her incredible dedication to her work, and the immeasurable kindness she showed to all.

May her soul rest in eternal peace as her memory lives on in our hearts forever.

In this time of profound loss, the family wishes to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the exceptional A.I.M. palliative and hospice care team whose unwavering support and loving attention ensured Deborah's utmost comfort during her final days.
