It´s hard to put into words the impact Deborah A. Rowe-Cherson, or "Aunt Debbie," had in the short time I knew her. Though I only met her once this year, she made a lasting impression with her warmth, kindness, and generosity of spirit. From the moment I met her, she made both me and my girlfriend, Gretchen Povlsen, feel completely at ease. The love she showed Gretchen and her three boys was unmistakable-a love that was deep, unwavering, and constant. It was clear to me, even in that single meeting, that Deborah´s heart was the source of the strength, kindness, and grace that I now see in Gretchen every day.

Aunt Debbie had a way of making everyone feel welcome, seen, and appreciated. She radiated love, and her spirit of service extended beyond her family to everyone she encountered. As a nurse, she served countless souls with the same selflessness and care, always giving of herself to others. Her legacy lives on not only in her beautiful family, but in the way she touched lives with her kindness, compassion, and servant heart.

I am grateful for the time I had with her, and though our meeting was brief, I will always carry her memory with me-through Gretchen, through the love she poured into her family, and through the deep sense of welcome and belonging she made me feel.
