Deborah Peregoy Smith, age 70 of Callands, VA passed away Thursday, August 11, 2022, at Centra Lynchburg General Hospital. Mrs. Smith was born July 9, 1952, in Pittsylvania County to the late Haywood A. Peregoy and the late Mildred Hubbard Peregoy. She was married to James Curtis Smith, Jr.
She was a member of Matthews Memorial Community Church, retired bookkeeper with PL Anderson & Son, and she will always be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and a friend to all who knew her.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by one son, Kevin Smith, and his wife Penny, and two grandchildren, Hannah Wilson, and Curtis Smith.
Funeral services will be held Sunday, August 14, 2022, 2:00 p.m. at Matthews Memorial Community Church, with Rev. Rusty East officiating. Burial will follow at Matthews Memorial Community Church Cemetery. A visitation will be held one hour prior to the funeral from 1:00 2:00 p.m. at Matthews Memorial Community Church.
