Deborah Springer Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Peck Funeral Home - Hartselle on Sep. 25, 2025.
Deborah Springer, beloved wife, mother, and friend, passed away peacefully on September 19, 2025. Throughout her life she achieved remarkable things. She earned her college degree at an accelerated rate while raising her family, and she later went on to become a drag racing champion--an accomplishment that spoke to her tenacious spirit and determination. Whatever the challenge, she faced it with grace, strength, and perseverance.

Born in Hartselle, Alabama on December 12, 1951, she built a life filled with love, laughter, and devotion to those dearest to her. She worked proudly as an accountant for the State of Alabama in the Department of Examiners of Public Accounts. Respected for her skill and dedication, she was also treasured by her colleagues for her kindness, warmth, and steady presence. she had the rare ability to make everyone feel valued, leaving behind not only a professional legacy but also countless friendships.

Her greatest joy, however, was found at home with her family. She shared a beautiful life with her loving husband, Don, who was her partner in all things. Together they raised two adoring daughters, Kimberly and Kelley, who will forever carry her lessons, love, and laughter in their hearts. She was the "magic maker" of the family--the one who brought sparkle to everyday and created traditions that bound everyone together.

A life long animal lover, she cared deeply for every creature, but her passion was always her family. She was the glue that held us together, the steady hand and the joyful heart at the center of our lives. She was preceded in death by her parents, Carl Patton Jr. and Betty Roan Flack Patton. Sister, Carla Patton Fussell, and niece, Kristen Leigh Fussell.
