Deborah L. "Debbie" Wright

Deborah "Debbie" Lester Wright, 66, of Memphis, Tennessee went to be with her Lord, Saturday, October 29th, 2022. Debbie was a graduate of Central High School. She worked for the Commercial Appeal for 39 years. Debbie was married to the love of her life, Gary Wright Sr., for 40 years. She is survived by her husband William "Gary" Wright Sr., her son William Gary Wright Jr., her son Jaime Dale Wright (Shelby), her grandson James Price Wright, and her sisters Brenda Smith (Clyde) and Durenda Pratt (Richard). She was preceded in death by her parents J.W. and Virginia Lester, brother Jim Hurst, brother-in-law Dale Wright, and her beloved daughter Leseley Kaye Wright in 2017. We are certain that Debbie and Leseley are having a joyous reunion in Heaven. Debbie was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, and enjoyed spending time with her family in the Great Smokey Mountains. She especially loved being a Dog Mom throughout the years to Ozzy, Toto, Munchie, Emma, and Murphy.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Tunica Humane Society.
Please join us in celebrating Debbie's life Tuesday, November 8th at 12 pm. Visitation at 11 am. Service to be held at Canale Funeral Directors, 2700 Union Ave Ext, Memphis, TN 38112. Reception following the funeral at The Bayou Grill, located at 2094 Madison Ave, Memphis, TN 38104.
