Debra L. Campbell

Debra L. Campbell (Hassell), age 66, of Southgate, Michigan, passed away on October 30, 2025, following complications from surgery.

Born in 1959 to Jack and Maxine Hassell, Debra was a lifelong resident of southeast Michigan. She was a proud graduate of the University of Michigan, where she earned a Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree in Urban & Regional Studies. She retired from the United States Postal Service after 35+ years at the Detroit Bulk Mail Center.

Debra will be remembered for her intelligence, independence, and strong work ethic. She always had a love of pugs (Smokey, Yoko and Pepper) and was a devoted member of Hope City Church, where she found connection and faith in her later years. She also attended Southpoint Church for Bible study and fellowship.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Jack and Maxine Hassell, and brother-in-law John Paps.

She is survived by her daughter Melanie (Jason) Dunn, grandson Samuel, sisters Linda (Ernie) Prior and Jacque Paps, and their children and grandchildren, as well as her church family. A private memorial will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Hope City Church or Lap of Love Veterinary Hospice.
