Debra Sue Cardiff

Debra Sue Cardiff, age 65, of Alpena, passed away on March 29, 2026. She was born on August 20, 1960, in Plainwell, MI, and lived a life marked by love, warmth, and devotion to the people and things she held dear.

Debra was a loving woman whose kind spirit touched the lives of many. She was known for her gentle heart, her caring nature, and the way she made others feel welcome and valued. Those who knew her will remember her as someone who gave of herself freely and who found joy in the simple, meaningful moments of everyday life.

Family was very important to Debra throughout her life. She was the beloved daughter of William and Lynn Vickery. She is survived by her fiancé, Glen Buchler, who shared many cherished years with her after they met on October 7, 2011. Debra also leaves behind her sisters, Dawn (Rick) Keyes, Diana (Rick) Schmidt, and Melanie (Josh) Vickery, along with several nieces and nephews who will carry forward fond memories of her love and presence. She was preceded in death by her mother Lynn.

Debra enjoyed a variety of pastimes that reflected her cheerful and caring personality. She loved bowling, camping, gardening, and canning, and she found comfort and enjoyment in spending time with animals. She also liked playing games on her phone and knitting, activities that brought her relaxation and happiness. Whether she was tending to her garden, spending time outdoors, or enjoying quiet moments at home, Debra appreciated the little things that made life special.

Her life was one of connection, devotion, and kindness. She had a way of making others feel at ease, and her loving nature left a lasting impression on those around her. Debra will be remembered for her strength, her warmth, and the genuine affection she showed to her family and friends. Her memory will remain a treasured part of the lives she touched.

Debra is at McWilliams Funeral Home where family will receive friends on April 11, 2026 from 10am until the time of the service at 2pm with President James Hermanson officiating. Memorial donations can be made to Friends Together Alpena.
