Mrs. Debra Bass Godwin, 67, of Pelham, Georgia, where she lived most her life, passed away Wednesday morning, November 26, 2025, at The Orchard at Stone Creek. Mrs. Godwin was born June 12, 1958, to the late Loys and Audrey Bass. Mrs. Godwin was a former hairdresser who went on to become a dispatcher for both Mitchell County Sheriff’s Office as well as 911 where she retired. She will be remembered by many, loved and missed by all. Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by two sisters: Sandra Bishop and Linda Gore, as well as one brother, Kenneth Bass.
She is survived by her husband Charles E Godwin (Hahira), one son Jason Godwin (Laura) of Pelham, GA, one daughter Genelle Ward (Michael) of Valdosta, Ga and four grandsons: Ryley Godwin, Levi, Lawson, and Jackson Ward. Three sisters Deloris Curles (Warner), Dorothy Libby (Ray), and Faye Sealy; numerous nieces, nephews and extended family members.
As per the family’s wishes, Mrs. Godwin will be cremated with no formal services at this time. Kind words and expressions of sympathy can be left for the family at www.musicfuneralservices.com.
