Deb was my 1st true friend when I moved to Colorado from Texas in 3rd grade. We became close friends and were inseparable through grade school. We spent most of our time at her parents home on N. Cascade Ave. You could find us sitting in a makeshift treehouse eating mostly cucumbers from their garden. If we weren't there we would be at Fountain Creek playing in the water and digging up Dinosaur bones. It's a wonder we didn't die then from the cliffs caving in where we dug! I remember one time a donkey got loose and we chased it all the way up to Nevada Ave. before we caught it and returned him home. Another time we found a horse in a pasture and took a rope and decided to ride it, we both did, and we both fell off. We went to different Junior highs and high school but never ventured too far from each other. Once after high school, I said let's go to CA. So we took off in my 1970 Mustang with my Mom's gas credit card and Deb had $200. cash in her pocket. We managed to get there, see a lot of beaches and even went to Disney Land on our modest amount of money. One of the best trip ever!! Even though our lives moved in different directions, we were always there for each others milestones. She was maid-of-honor in my wedding and me in hers. She was there when I adopted my first son and took his newborn pictures and I was there after her first son was born. I was there for her Mother's funeral, I was there for her college graduation and she sure wouldn't miss my 50 birthday celebration! Even though we have lived far a part for the last 15 plus years, her birthday and mine have never been missed or not acknowledged. I could go on forever with stories but now all I can say is a piece of my heart is missing. We always think there is more time to get together but, we put it off. Take it from me, do it now not later. I have to be in Texas at the time of the celebration of life with my sister for cancer surgery. Would someone let me know what caused my friend Deb to pass away? Call of text me 719-338-0373. Brenda Cartwright Keigher
