Debra Harris-Grillo Obituary

Published by Legacy on Dec. 31, 2025.
Debra "Debby" Lee Grillo peacefully passed on Dec 24th, 2025, in Yakima. She was born to Paul and Arvilla Harris in Moses Lake on August 19th, 1953, joining older sister Judy and brother David. After the separation of her parents, she lived with her mother and stepfather, Jess Prather, in Washougal, where she attended school. She spent summers with her father and stepmother Genelia, her sister and brother, along with four stepsisters, Julie, Connie, Dyann, and Kim. She later decided to live with her father full-time, attending WVHS and graduating from Davis HS in 1971.
Debby put herself through Beauty school and later began working at St Elizabeth Hospital in the Admittance department. She eventually earned her certificate as a Medical Coder, retiring from this in 2017.
She married Dennis Grillo in 1987 and together had their son, David, in 1988. Although Debby and Dennis went their separate ways, they remained friends. Her greatest joy was attending her son's wedding to daughter-in-law Carrie Pearson in March 2024.
Debby enjoyed gatherings with those she loved and had a wicked sense of humor. She had many friends through school, work, and social gatherings who, along with her family, will miss her deeply.
Debby is preceded in death by her mother, Arvilla Prather; stepfather, Jess Prather, her father, Paul Harris, stepmother, Genelia Patnode, sister, Judy Bryant, and brother, David Harris. She is survived by her son, David Grillo (Carrie), and stepsisters, Julie Benedictson, Connie Wellner, Dyann Kanzler, and Kim Zimmerman.
There will be a Celebration of Life in the Spring.
