Debra Jeane Newcomb, aged 72, of Durand, Michigan, passed away on January 26, 2026, in Owosso, Michigan, surrounded by family.

Born on September 20, 1953, in St. Johns, Michigan, Debra's journey through life was marked by her witty spirit and a creative soul. Debra's early years were spent in the corridors of Durand High School, and grew to be a woman of many talents. Debra possessed a passion for the arts that was evident in her love for reading and painting ceramics. Debra was not only crafty, she had a sense of humor that would often light up a room with her quick wit and charming laughter. Her creative spirit was not just limited to her artistic endeavors but was also woven into the very fabric of her daily life.

Debra is survived by her daughter, Rachel (Dave) Arnett; her son, Eddie Newcomb; her brother, Bruce (Judy) Tomlinson; sister, Brenda Shettler; Stepsisters Helen Rathbun and Leslie (Howard) Stidham, and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her father, Lester Tomlinson; her mother, Mavis Treneman; stepfather, Terry Rathbun; stepmother, Patricia Tomlinson; sister, Pamela Teachworth; and brothers, Todd Tomlinson and Dennis Rathbun.

Debra's life was a testament to the power of laughter, and the beauty of art. Her legacy is one of love, creativity, and the courage to find joy in the simple pleasures of life. She will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing and loving her.
