We met 5-6 years ago in an American Sign Language (ASL) class at Wayne County Community College. We were the seasoned students in the class and had a great bond. We kept in touch over the years and I appreciated our friendship. Although she was my sister from another mother, we will always be sisters.

May Debra rest in peace. We met in WCCCDs ASL courses. She was a woman of few words, but she had a big heart. She knew more sign language than most of our classmates and she told very funny stories (in sign and in voice). Deb was very dedicated to her family and spoke of them highly and often. It is no surprise to hear about her long career as an educator, because she extended that instinct and leadership in our ASL classes. She taught me the sign for "what's up?" and I'll remember that always. My most sincere condolences to the Poole family and thank you for sharing your beautiful family member with us.
