Debra Dabney was born on December 18, 1953. She attended Hillsborough County Schools and was a graduate of Middleton High School Class of 1971. She furthered her education at Brewster Technical College, earning her associate degree in Business Administration. With her degree in Business, she began working with various companies, including Hill Construction LLC, T.H. Construction LLC., Sherman Home Designs and Roadside Truck Driving School, where she was a Commercial Carrier.
Deborah was a member of Greater Mount Moriah Primitive Baptist Church, with Dr. B.R. Fulton, Pastor. She joined as a little girl, serving until her health began to decline. She sang with Eddy Mae Jackson, Choir #4, Voices of Inspirations, all of Mt Moriah PBC, and The Hillsborough Community Choir, where she sang for over 20 years, under the direction of Brother Robert Rice. She was a member of Sisters of the Heart Sisterhood, where Frankie Nelson is the president. Among many of the things she loved was her love for animals; her love and compassion for animals was so extraordinary. Her passion for Interior decorating never went unnoticed with her houses and advice she shared with others. With all the things she did just as routine, her favorite downtime was on the card table. She would talk to trash and slam those cards on the table to let you know she has the upper hand.
Deborah was preceded in death by: her mother, Leola Sherman; father, Raymond Pruitt Sr.; brothers, Matthew Igles, James R. Sherman, Aaron and Kennedy Stillings, Raymond Pruitt, Adolphus Pruitt, and Ronald Pruitt; and brother-in-law, James Hameter.
