The following is an obituary written by her loving family.

Debra Lynne Wardle passed away suddenly at her home in Pittsboro on January 11, 2025.

She is survived by her wife, Amy (AJ) Wardle; her parents, Paula Foster and David Talkington; her aunt, Luann Badshah; her parents-in-law, Duane and Kim Wardle; several nieces, nephews, and cousins; and her three beloved cats, Garrus, Alistair, and Tali’Zorah. She is preceded in death by her sister, Sara Rehm; and beloved cat Grouchy.

Born in Indianapolis, Debra graduated from Herron High School in Indianapolis before attending Ball State University in Muncie, IN, where she studied accounting and finance. After earning a master’s degree, also from Ball State, she moved to Virginia to work for Lumen Technologies before moving back to Indiana to marry her wife. Outgoing and personable, she made friends easily and cared deeply for her loved ones. A generous woman, she registered as an organ donor and will change many lives for the better with her gifts.

No funeral service will be held, but a celebration of life will take place at a later date in the spring. In lieu of flowers, her family requests donations be made to The Trevor Project and/or Misty Eyes Animal Center.

Arrangements are entrusted to Eric M.D. Bell Funeral Home in Pittsboro, Indiana.

All are encouraged to keep Debra’s family in your thoughts and prayers during this incredibly difficult time.
