Debra L. White (71), originally from Rochester, NY, peacefully passed away from a long illness with COPD on February 13, 2026 at the Mike Conley Hospice House in Clermont, FL. She was surrounded by her son, Judson; granddaughter, Kira; and nephew, Daniel. Debra was born on March 23, 1954 in Rochester, NY to Merle and Elizabeth Matteson (Rosier).
A few years after graduating high school, she met the love of her life, Steven C. White. They spent the next 35 years enjoying happiness. He was truly the light that brightened her world. As time went on, they welcomed a son who brought even more happiness to both of them.
From the moment she graduated with her nursing degree, her heart was set on helping people. She was able to exercise this passion over many years and in doing so has touched countless lives and created many life-long friendships.
Debra was predeceased by her husband, Steven C. White; parents, Merle and Elizabeth Matteson; sister, Theda R. Weidenbach (Matteson); brother, Jon G Matteson.
She is survived by her son, Judson F. White; granddaughters, Kira and Aaliyah White; sister and husband, Rise G. Venette (Matteson) and Michael P. Dirkx; brother and wife Merle F. Matteson, Jr. and Cathy; nephew and wife Daniel L. Venette and Kelsey; nephew and wife David F. Matteson and Kathryn; niece and husband Kimberly Tadlock (Weidenbach) and David; nephew Joseph Weidenbach; Steve White’s siblings, Patty and Charlie White.
In lieu of services, a celebration of life is being planned for the May timeframe in Rochester, NY.
