DEBRA LAVAY WISE

Debra Lavay Wise, beloved niece, cousin, and friend, departed from this world on November 24, 2025, in Dallas, Texas. Born on October 27, 1955, in Gladewater, Texas, Debra brought light and joy wherever she went. She lived a life filled with laughter and generosity, known for her bubbly personality and her ability to make anyone feel like an old friend.

Debra dedicated her career to serving as a legal secretary for the City of Dallas, where her friendly nature allowed her to connect with countless colleagues and clients alike. She was a tireless advocate for her family and friends, always prioritizing their needs above her own. Her dedication extended beyond her work; she was immensely proud of her achievements, particularly her role as a supervisor at JC Penny Insurance Company.

Her family holds cherished memories of her kindness and spirited nature. Her cousins recall a mischievous adventure during her babysitting days when they took their dad's Mustang for a joyride, only to have it run out of gas. With laughter and teamwork, they pushed it home, a testament to the fun-loving spirit that Debra imbued in her family gatherings.

Debra's zest for life was vibrant. She had a particular fondness for food and was known for her sweet tooth, especially her love for chocolate. Game shows captured her heart, as she relished being part of the excitement on "Wheel of Fortune" and "25 Words or Less." Shopping was another passion of hers, where her giving nature shined as she often shared her finds with loved ones.

In her later years, she remained fiercely loyal to her family, particularly her dear Aunt Dean, with whom she shared an unbreakable bond. Debra cherished these relationships profoundly, and they will miss her energetic hugs, infectious laughter, and the warmth she brought to family gatherings.

As we gather to honor Debra’s memory, friends and family are invited to a viewing on December 5, 2025, from 12:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Golden Gate Funeral Home-Dallas, located at 4155 S R. L. Thornton Freeway, Dallas, TX. A funeral service will take place the following day, December 6, 2025, at 1:00 PM, at the same location.

Debra Lavay Wise may have left this world, but the irreplaceable mark she made on every life she touched will forever remain in our hearts. Let us celebrate a life beautifully lived, a soul so full of light and love, and a spirit that will continue to inspire those who had the privilege of knowing her.
