Debralyn Garvin

Debralyn Garvin was born on October 1, 1970 in Brooklyn to the late William Franklin Garvin and Eleanor Garvin. Debralyn was the youngest of five girls and was affectionately called "Piggy" because of her appetite as a baby. Debralyn enjoyed an amazing childhood in Brownsville Brooklyn with her sister Lisa who was just a year older. The two were so close, their mother often dressed them like twins as children. As a teen, Debralyn attended Tilden High School, where she would meet lifelong friends, Magdelena, Zelinka and George. She worked for over 30 years in the Federal Government, and enjoyed summers with her cousins in South Carolina, family trips and special times with her sisters, nieces and nephews. Debralyn was called home on March 4, 2026. Two of her sisters, Rhonda and Rozalind, preceded her in death. She leaves behind a daughter, Kourtney Buie, adopted daughter Ebony Garvin, sisters Michelle Simpkins and Lisa Garvin. Nieces & Nephews: Kenly Garvin, Duane Garvin, William Garvin, Brandon Simpkins, Stacye-Mallory Garvin, Jaire Johnson, Nathaniel Johnson and Julia Johnson, Aunts & Uncle: Christine Middleton, Wendy McClinton, Deborah Taylor and Gary Middleton. Lifelong friends who remained by her side: Daniel Harris, Magdelena Lamy, George Hutchinson, Zelinka Randle, and a host of great nieces, nephews and cousins that she loved dearly.
