Declan Kenyon Obituary

Published by Legacy on Jul. 30, 2024.
Kelly's water broke early in the morning on the 18th and in typical Declan fashion, he was in a hurry to get on to the next thing. Two hours later, our baby giraffe entered our life and into our world.
In 1992, Andy befriended an Irish pub owner Declan Doyle when in Ager, Spain, and always liked the name. Our Declan always expressed that he loved his name. Declan means "full of goodness".
Declan was with all of us for 9,352 days which he made the most of with a non-apologetic attitude for who he was. Single. Never married. No children. His family that continues includes Andrew B. Kenyon (father), Kelly A. Riley/Kenyon (mother), Riley D. Kenyon (brother - 26), Hayden A. Kenyon (brother - 21).
Broomfield, Colorado was his base for 21 years where he went to Kohl Elementary, Broomfield Heights Middle School and Broomfield High School. He enrolled at Front Range Community College, vacillating between IT technology and business. Graduating with an AA Business degree, he set out to conquer the world and make a million dollars before he was 21... OK then, 22... etc.
His first career job was with Best Buy Geek Squad, supporting people asking where the 'any' key is on their computer keyboard (Press Any Key). Not fulfilled with the work meeting his lofty career and financial goals, he passed the real estate exam and worked with his grandmother Carra Riley selling residential homes around the Denver metro area. He excelled and was awarded as a "Rising Star" to be rookie of the year with the Colorado Association of Realtors in 2019.
The world shifted in 2020 with the pandemic. Declan regrouped and went back to what he knew.
In 2021 at ClearChoice dental implant center in Denver, he was a Digital Workflow Coordinator. He very much enjoyed what he did with computer support at their national dental lab.
Graham Golden Technologies was his next venture in 2024 as an IT support specialist. Only there for a handful of months before his passing, he made an impact with those he worked with and will be deeply missed.
His dog Buster Brown is a 4 year old American Bully that was a blessing to Declan. He truly loved that dog and the two were inseparable. Buster ate anything. Declan thought his dog had a death wish. A support dog is an understatement. Buster helped Declan through his emotional hardships and had such an amazing bond with his owner.
The music he listened to was like him and very eclectic. With bands like Suicide Silence and Cannibal Corpse, to rap and classical, he liked it all...depending on his mood.
Declan LOVED sport cars. He could name any sports car that he saw, knew the year and trim package as he passed by it. He had a black (his favorite 'color') 2014 Infinity Q37X 2 door coupe and was devastated when a May Colorado hailstorm totaled it this year. One week before he passed, the insurance company cut him a check, and in typical Declan fashion, he promptly used to pay off his car.
¶ Declan's smile could light up a room. Everyone saw his boyish good looks and thick beautiful hair and knew of his contagious sense of humor. With his lanky 6' 4" physique you could see him across the room. When he turned on his charm, and charisma people were drawn to him.
His sincerity emanated a kindness that made him larger than life. He had a remarkable ability to make people feel special, always willing to lend an ear, offer a helping hand, or share a meal and a story.
Though our hearts ache with his absence, we find solace in the countless memories we hold dear. We are forever grateful for the time we shared during his short but meaningful life.
Declan, you will always be remembered and deeply missed. Your spirit will live on in the stories we tell, the laughter we share, and the love that continues to grow in your absence. Rest in peace, our beautiful son. You are forever in our hearts... Still Ballin' (The 2pac Shakur kind)!
