Dee Cox Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Lewis Funeral Chapel - Fort Smith on Jan. 29, 2026.
Dee Wayne Cox, 74, of Fort Smith, Arkansas, entered his eternal rest on January 27, 2026. Born on February 9, 1951, in Fresno, California, to Delmer and Mary Cox, Dee lived a life marked by deep faith, quiet strength, and unwavering devotion to his family. He enjoyed the outdoors-riding ATVs, taking family trips, hunting, and fishing-and he carried a steady, gentle spirit that made others feel at ease in his presence.

Dee served his country honorably as a Radio Operator in the United States Army, offering his skills with humility and dedication. His commitment to service continued throughout his life, reflected in his work ethic, his kindness, and his faithful membership at The Pentecostal Church.

He is survived by his loving wife, Danna Cox; his children De'Anna Cox, Justin and Claudia Cox, and Jordan Cox; and he is preceded in death by his son, Jonathan Cox. Dee was a proud grandfather to Talor Tatterson (Danielle), Kristin Cox, Angie Mahuron (Wyatt), Luke Watson, Logan Cox, Ashton Watson, and Caleb Cox. His joy multiplied through his great grandchildren-Stella, Wilder, Gunner, Banner, and Maeva-who brought laughter and light into his later years.

Dee will be remembered as a man of integrity, patience, and steadfast faith. His gentle wisdom, quiet humor, and compassionate heart touched the lives of all who knew him. Though he will be deeply missed, his legacy lives on in the values he instilled, the memories he created, and the love he freely gave.

Funeral Service: Friday, January 30, 2026 • 2:00 p.m. The Pentecostal Church 3700 Kelley Highway, Fort Smith, Arkansas
