Dee Evans Obituary
Dee was born on October 21, 1959 in Watseka, the son of Floyd "Spegett" Evans and Mary Agnes Smith and they preceded him in death.
He married Kathleen "Kathy" Smith in September of 1985. They had four children: Derek (Erin) Evans of Mackinaw, IL; Deidre (Howard) Wilson of Henderson, NV; Kristopher (Marisa) Evans of Wheaton, IL; and Kyle (Kara) Evans of Iroquois, IL. He later proposed to Colette Carlson in May of 2021.
Besides his children, he is survived by his brother Floyd "Jay" (Cindy) Evans of Rossville, IL and sister, Cynthia "Cindy" Hardwick of Hoopeston, IL; five grandchildren: Anna "Pix" Wilson of Henderson, NV; Cooper, Hudson and Oliver Evans of Mackinaw, IL; and Bruce Evans of Wheaton, IL; his fiancé, Colette Carlson of Sheldon, IL whom he loved dearly; and many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews and his fiancé's children and grandchildren.
Dee worked as a machine fabricator, electrician, carpenter and fork lift operator and held various positions at Standard Register/Uarco in Watseka, IL. He retired in 2020 from the Big R/Runnings warehouse.
He enjoyed playing his many guitars, listening to Led Zeppelin, AC/DC, Steve Miller Band and more, watching the Chicago Cubs and Bears play, reading Stephen King novels, and spending time talking politics with his fiancé.
In his younger years, he enjoyed tinkering on his beloved '57 Chevy Bel Air, fishing with his boys, hunting dove and pheasants, spending time at Timbered Meadows with his mom, playing baseball in the church yard of Goodwine with his children, taking his children down to shoot cans off the old railroad bridge, and visiting and playing euchre with his siblings.
A memorial visitation will be from 3:00 – 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday, December 16, 2025 at Baier Funeral Home in Watseka. A memorial service will follow at 5:00 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to Iroquois County Animal Rescue in Iroquois, IL.
