Claudia "Dee Dee" Rose, age 82, of Boles, Arkansas, passed from this life on August 20, 2025. She was born on August 6, 1943, in Shreveport, Louisiana, to Sam Jr. and Lois Juran (Higgins) Peters.

Dee Dee led an incredible life. In addition to being a loving wife, mother, and grandmother, she was an accomplished dog trainer who had a deep love and connection with animals. She was an American Kennel Club judge who was a Gaines National Award winner and was the first person in the state of Arkansas to receive the Obedience Title Championship for her work with her beloved dog, Starr. Her work took her across the country, and she left a lasting impression everywhere she went. She was famous for her talent for training dogs, and one of her Golden Retriever puppies was featured in the movie Air Bud. Dee Dee also loved the deer that came into her yard and was known to hand-feed them. Another passion of Dee Dee's was art. She was amazingly gifted and worked as a professional artist with a focus on pastel paintings. She was also the 1961 City Beautiful Princess, Little Rock.

Dee Dee was a proud mother. She passed down her love of animals to her daughter, Shanyn, who went on to work with animals in various capacities as a dog groomer, as well as in veterinary clinics. Her son, Gary, is a retired Lieutenant Colonel in the United States Army.

Dee Dee is survived by her devoted husband of 64 years, Royce Rose, her daughter Shanyn Rose, her son Gary Rose and wife Bonnie, her brother Sammy Peters and wife Pam, seven grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, as well as her dogs, Tootie and Zippy.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Sam and Juran Peters, as well as her dog, OTHC Sparkle Plenty.
