On October 12, 1966, Delana Joyce Zeigler was born to James Zeigler, Sr. and Arnita Lewis.
Delana was educated in Tulsa Public Schools, attending Sam Houston Elementary, Gilcrease Middle School, and McClain High School. She later met her soulmate, Harold Dorsey, and together they welcomed twins, Brandon and Brittney. Delana and Harold were united in marriage on March 20, 1999, a date that now holds even deeper meaning as we honor her life today.
Delana had a heart of gold and was known for being loving, caring, and strong. She enjoyed traveling, shopping, and, most of all, spending time with her family and beloved granddaughters. She was organized, always prepared, and known for keeping her home spotless and fresh.
She worked for the Schusterman family for 20 years at their oil and gas company, Samson, and later as an Office Manager at Charles and Lynn Schusterman Family Philanthropies. She was known for her strong work ethic and took great pride in everything she did.
Delana was more than a mother, sister, friend, and coworker; she was a cheerleader, a source of wisdom, and a light in the lives of many. When you hear the song "I'm Every Woman," think of her. It reflects her spirit.
She leaves to cherish her memory her children, Brandon Dorsey and Brittney Golden (Eric); her parents, James Zeigler, Sr. (Helen) and Arnita Lewis; her siblings, Taulease Zeigler (John), James Zeigler, Jr. (Jackie), Warren Zeigler (Tara), Herbert Turner (Christy) and Ashley Jackson (DaMon); her five granddaughters, Cadence, Nariyah, Harlyn, Zoe, and Aliana; and a host of beloved aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews.
Her memory is a blessing and her spirit lives on in all who loved her.
